SEAO Project
INDEXICALS AND DEMONSTRATIVES III
FACULTY OF PHILOSOPHY, UNIVERSITY OF WARSAW (ONLINE), 12th-13th of January 2023

INDEXICALS AND DEMONSTRATIVES III is the third of the series of the workshop-seminars planned within the project 'Semantic and epistemological aspects of ostension: from demonstrating procedures to the exploitation of the context of utterance'.

The purpose of the workshop-seminars is to gather scholars interested in indexicality, especially in various issues connected with the distinction between proper indexicals and demonstratives (the role of intentions in determining the reference of indexicals and demonstratives, the linguistic meanings of indexical expressions etc.) and other problems in the logic, semantics and pragmatics of deictic expressions.
We are especially interested in foundational philosophical questions and issues.

Invited speaker:
Una Stojnic (Princeton University)

SUBMISSIONS:

We invite submissions for 60 minute talks (including 30 minutes for the  discussion and commentary [the author decides if s/he wants to have a  commentator; having a commentator requires sharing a draft version of the paper at least 10 days before the workshop]). A one-page abstract of maximum 500 words should be  submitted to taci@uw.edu.pl by the 10th of December 2022. The abstract, in the pdf format, should be prepared for a blind  peer review. The notification of acceptance will be sent by the 20th of December 2022.  The authors of the accepted papers may be asked to play a  role of one of the commentators of the papers that are going to be  presented by our invited speaker.

The workshop shall be an online event.
